Do you know me?

1) I like to the cold part of the sheets. The best part of getting into bed is feeling the cold on my legs and then warming them up.
2) Every time I see someone who is homeless or looking for a job my heart breaks. The other day I was at lunch with a friend. A guy walked in and asked if they were hiring... they weren't. He walked out. I was tempted to run after him and give him some money. I still can not stop thinking about this man.
3) I always think that I have mono no matter what the doctors say. I am always tired and ready for a nap. EVEN when it seems that I have energy.
4) I love to sing in the shower, clean my ears daily, always have gum in my mouth, laugh until it hurts, talk Chinese and clean house.
5) I don't know why... but EVERYONE tells me their life stories. Even the woman at the gas store.
6) I love road trips. Some of my best memories are with family and friend on road trips.
7) I love school. I have a dream to never stop going to school. Thus I am starting to go back to school next semester. I get this from my Grandma.
8) I love china dishes. When I grow up I want a different set of dishes for every month. They are just so beautiful. I know this is unrealistic but I can still dream, right?
9) I miss my mission every single day. I didn't really understand Elder Holland when he said that he thinks of his mission daily. I now understand completely.
10) I love to love people. I love to serve people. I love to make people happy. I love to make people feel as though they are of worth. I love people.

Amusing Time!

If ANYONE is in need of some entertainment in their life, they should go to this play/musical! I'm not just saying this because one of my best friends is in it... but honestly it is pure greatness. When you go, make sure that you don't get along with the person that you go with. You may end up laughing/talking and then the grumpy old man sitting in front of you will turn around and tell you to "shut up"! OH MY... it was ... GREAT! (Yale, this picture is for you)

Three Simple Words?

Such simple words, right? Well, I thought so! Who knew that the words "I love you" could be taken so many different ways. I end almost every phone conversation with these words, in a nice sort of way. I tell me friends that I love them whenever we are together, in a friendly sort of way. My family is always saying these words to each other, in a family feeling sort. After my mission I learned of an experience. It went something like this...

"Hello Elder, what can we do for you?" I ask as I answer the phone.

"Well we were wondering if you had time today to do a temple tour?"

"What time?"

"We were hoping around 2:30" responds the Elder.

"We would be able to do that. Sorry, we are in a hurry. We'll see ya at 2:30. Have a good day. I love ya. Bye." I hurriedly say to end the conversation.

I thought nothing of this encounter. As I said before I end all my phone conversations in such a way. Little did I know. I didn't know the second half of the story until after i returned ....

After the Elder is off the phone it hits him.... Sister Barker.... JUST TOLD ME SHE LOVED ME!

He turns and calls the Assistants.

"Elder, what can we do for ya?" Answer the Assistants.

"Well.... I just got off the phone with Sister Barker. I was calling to set up an appointment and ... well... um... so... she ... um... she told me that she loved me!"

"WHAT?"

"Yeah! That is what I thought as well" replies the Elder.

"Well Elder.... there is nothing to get worried about. That is just Sister Barker. She loves everyone and tells everyone. Now get to work."

I was reminded of this story once again this week. When saying "I love you" at the end of the phone conversation was taken different than intended. Maybe I just need to stop saying it all together? But then again... don't people need to be reminded that they are loved? I'm perplexed about this situation. Who thought that saying "I love you" would turn things upside down?

He is out of here!

After years of telling him to "GET OUT OF THE CITY" he is doing it! I never really meant it but I guess he decided to take it to heart. He is moving to Wisconsin for a job and I will be left here. We still have email and phones but he will have a harder time with being amused with my facial expression when he says something that is almost believable. Needless to say... I am going to miss him.

Funnies!

As anyone that knows me knows... when Cassie doesn't get the necessary amount of sleep things get a little crazy. I am here to tell you that nothing has changed in the last three years. I just finished working three night shift in a row. With that said it is obvious that crazy times were not hard to have with me around.
#1) After having a serious discussion with a co-worker about the plan of salvation. I told him that while I would be going to the celestial kingdom ... he would not!
#2) As a RN we have to fill out a questionnaire on our patients every shift to give us an idea of the level of acuity that they are. I decided that I would take the liberty to fill out this questionnaire on a patient that was not even mine.
#3) I told a teenage male that he smelt good! His parents just looked at me with puzzled looks.
#4) While walking on a perfectly flat floor I still found a way to trip on the huge bump that was not there.
I am sure that there are many many more funny crazy things that had me crying ... but once again a lack of sleep has my brain at a lose.
Here are some other funny moments from my life lately
#5) While sitting next to an extremely nice looking guy at church a girl from across the room struts over and leans in to whisper in my ear. I listen to her tell me that my wrap skirt is showing all of my leg and even my underwear! I quickly pull the skirt closed and the nice looking guy just laughs. AWKWARD!
#6) After returning home from a blind date my roommate asks "So were you even attracted to him?" I simple reply that I was not. She responds back "I didn't think so. His head was not nearly big enough." Apparently I take a liking to the big headed!

Trust me I know that pictures make blogs more interesting... but there is not picture for this post. I apologize. Maybe next week... but no promises!

"HEYWOOD"

I must admit that there is one family that I may love almost as much as my own. That would have to be the Heywood family. Our history goes way back. Jamie and I became friends in 10th grade and Dave and I met in student council, in 11th grade. This family is hilarious! They make me laugh so hard. I went and visited them on my way home to Salt Lake this weekend. It was the highlight of my weekend. I walk in the door and EVERYONE yells "CASSIE"! Who wouldn't love that? I go and sit down and watch family home video's with them. I laughed to tears. Partly because of LeNell's cute little laugh and secondly because of Dave's dramatic walk. The times moves on and LeNell continues to ask why Dave and I just don't marry (this is a common question). Then we all realize that my ex-boyfriend is the same age as Jake, Dave's little brother. At which point they all start pushing for me to marry Jake. Awkward! Needless to say it was a great night. It was even better than my Halloween night! That is saying a lot! I love that family.

Always on top of the GAME!

I am here to say that no matter where you are and what you are doing... GIRLS NEED TO BE ON TOP OF THEIR GAME! So here is where I am coming from. It is 0530 that is to say, 5:30 in the morning! I am at work and have been there since 1900 (7:00 pm) the previous night. I walk into this room to make a copy for the oncoming nurse (I'm nice like that, try and help out when I can). In walks a fellow male nurse. He throws down a pad of post it notes and a pen on top of the copy machine. I look at him and laugh and then throw it on the cabinet. I must admit I thought it was strange and I didn't know what was going on. I keep making my copies. The next thing that I know he is giving me a piece of paper with his number on it. He tells me to call him. I say "Oh really, we shall see!" Then I walk out of the room, because I am finished making the copies, not because I am mean. I work the rest of the shift in awe.... this guy wants to hang out with me but is not man enough to ask for my number. I have to call him! So here is when I realized why it is so important for GIRLS TO BE ON TOP OF THE GAME ALWAYS! It was not until the next morning when I was in the shower getting ready for church that I was once again going through the situation in my head. It was then and only then that I realized that when he threw down the pad of paper the first time it was him asking for my number. I just didn't realize it. I know it was subtle! But on any given day, when I had had enough sleep this situation would have been handled very well, in a sassy sort of way. SO... all I am saying is stay on top girls. No matter the time, place or situation. Will we still go out? Of course! But... it is going to have to take some sassy way for me to get him my phone number. It would have just been easier the first time.

Is this really Cassie?

I'm against this! Everything in me right now is telling me "NO"! Yet here I sit typing away. Some may say that I am set in my ways, as crazy as they are. You see... I have never read Harry Potter. I also have never watched Star Wars or that other movie, of which I seemed to have forgotten the name, but everyone loves. I have not done these things and I am determined to never do them. It is crazy, yes! But I have never been all that normal. So... the fact that I sit here typing on a blog that now belongs to me is really absurd. I feel less then Cassie right now. Blogs are for married people with children. However, because I find myself in neither of those two categories, I wonder to myself why? I don't have an answer other than I feel that someone out there may find my life more entertaining than there own. If that is you... WELCOME!
